Israel’s Syria strategy risks turning Turkey into the new Iran - opinion

Israel has spent decades trying to break Iran's grip on Syria and Lebanon, and now that Assad's regime is gone, guess who's filling that seat at the table — Turkey. My friends, that's not a win, that's a trade. Erdoğan is not some neutral broker. He's got Ottoman ambitions, he's NATO's biggest army, and he's been cozying up to Hamas and every Muslim Brotherhood outfit in the region while positioning troops and influence right up on Israel's northern border. You don't solve a problem by handing the keys to a bigger one. This is exactly the pattern Scripture warns us to watch for — nations rising and falling, but the real question is always what beast fills the space the last one left. Ezekiel names Gog of the land of Magog, and the commentators have long tied that region to Turkey and the territories around it — a northern power gathering allies against a peaceful, unsuspecting people. I'm not saying every headline is the fulfillment, but I am saying the shape of what's happening lines up with what the prophets described: alliances forming in the north, positioning itself against Israel, while everybody else in the West congratulates themselves for "stability." Ezekiel 38:1-4 tells us Elohim Himself puts hooks in that power's jaws and draws it out — meaning even this is under His sovereign hand, not outside of it. So don't get lulled to sleep by the diplomatic language in these op-eds. Turkey stepping into Iran's old shoes in Syria and Lebanon is a development worth watching closely, because Yeshua told us these things must first come to pass.
